FS2002 Scenery - Dinsmore Intl, Ireland (EDIP)

Feb 11, 2002.

Belfast is about 4 miles to the north of this airport. Elevation is 215' MSL flattened & smoothed area.

Created with Airport for Windows 2.60 Build 135 and Abacus FSDSA for building design. Special thanks to Don of Airport for Windows, Jim, Ellie & Don all in in Florida and especially to Patric Dinsmore of Ireland.

This virtual airport is massive covering some 10 square miles of area. Has the following features:
==================================================================
RUNWAYS:
Active aircraft uses main runway 36R.

Full ILS and approach lighting. Different approach lighting depending on runway size.

5 runways:

Two 11,000'
one 8,500' all three having taxi ways to the main terminal area, main cargo area, PlanetAir terminal & cargo area and airline maintenance area.

One 8,500'
one 3,500' (STOL) both leading to the general aviation area with their own taxiways and lighting. Red lights display at end of general aviation taxi ways and larger aircraft taxiways to keep the aircraft from accidentally wandering into the other's area by mistake. The end of the perimeter road in this enclosed area has a guard shack with police car and red lights at road end. Airport security cars are scattered around the airport.

Red lighting blocks you from wandering onto active runways.
==================================================================

TERMINALS & SPECIAL FEATURES:
The entire area is smoothed. All stationary dynamic aircraft are lighted (they are US origin aircraft only, sorry).

Main terminal parking areas display green for open parking spaces and red for full spaces.

Full ILS and NDB for all runways.

PlanetAir cargo and terminal area is located at the south end of the airport with a single taxiway in and out linking up with the main terminal taxi area. Vehicle traffic tunnels under the main N/S taxiway. Guard houses are at each end of the tunnel with police cars with flashing lights at each. Planet Air virtual airline is based at Heathrow in London.

Two control towers: one north and one south.

One moving radar tower.

Hotels, hospital, offices, bank, travel agencies, restaurant, etc.

Each airline has its own marked termianl area linked by glass concourses to the main Dinsmore International terminal.

Perimeter road goes around airport and has exits to Planet Air (tunnel), main terminals, main cargo area. Guard shacks at each entrance/exit. Perimeter road links to FS default road.

PLEASE SEARCH FS2002 AND REMOVE OLD EDIP FILES. SOME BUILDING LOCATIONS HAVE CHANGED.

If you have not yet done so check out my other airport sceneries. You can search for "jimmy martin" in FS2002 sceneries and they should all be displayed.

Happy flying!
